Coastone
Coastone is a new biomaterial, designed to show the possibility of naturally derived materials. It utilises materials that are found in close proximity, which reduces the carbon footprint due to lower transport. Coastone can be recast easily, with its aim is to shift a user’s perspective on valuing a material, rather than its form. Its current form is a home speculative home décor piece that allows the user to be inspired and see the versatility of the material. It’s aim is to show designers need to have a deeper understanding of their materials to allow them to apply them more effectively in their work.

Process Book:
This is the full document showing the full process of developing this material. Through this process I discovered a great deal about material development and how these natural materials can be tailored to fit specific applications.

Update:
I had the opportunity to display my work at Green Grads, a company that allows newly graduate designers and artists show their sustainable design projects within London Design Festival. This opportunity allowed me to show the work I had been doing post graduation and the developments I had made while working along side SeedCell.

Monzo Move
Monzo Move was a quick brief, looking at how important branding is for a product. We were tasked to look at a company and imagine how they would promote a product they do not produce, focusing on brand continuity. I looked at how Monzo advertise their banking and put their approach to producing smart trainer insoles. Monzo is all about tracking your money, how little can go a long way and their bold colours and characters. Taking this ethos I designed these smart insoles, how they would work and the branding around the product.

Sign and Scavenge
I looked at how young, deaf children are educated, their struggles and how it could be made easier. There is often a disconnect between the parents and the children as well, with many parents not knowing sign language either. Sign and Scavenge is a portable card game that allows parents and children to learn different signs together, and take them on the go to discover them in the real world.

3D Printed Jacket
This self-lead brief was a look at how the future of fashion could be changed by 3D printing. With 3D printers becoming more common, what is the potential for them to become used in mainstream fashion. With things like digital fashion, is there a potential for people to buy clothing files and print them off at home?

Geminus
Geminus was a project set by Hacel. As a team of three we had to look at designing a new type of light, and we chose too look at hospital lighting. Geminus has two different sets of light, a task light and ambient lighting, to allow it to be used for different situations by both the patient and the staff. We focused closely on the manufacturing and production process, and with the renders that I produce we were able to demonstrate how the lighting functioned in the pitch.
